Internet TV
Internet TVis simply a television service which is distributed by the internet. Simply, did I say simply, it’s simply marvelous that’s what it is.
Internet TV has completely changed the way that we watch television, we can choose whichever program we want to watch from either a directory or an archive, and content is either streamed directly to your media player or downloaded onto your computer. It might sound a bit scary at first to those who have only just mastered their “Sky” remote, but persevere, it’s worth it and oh so easy once you’ve had a bit of practice and got over the initial shock of just how versatile the whole concept is.
The market for “TV on Demand” is growing isn’t it, we don’t want to be tied down by a TV schedulers program, we want to have our cake and eat it, or we want to go out on the weekends without missing the final episode of Dancing With The Stars – you know the sort of thing.
Internet TV Providers
Many of the conventional television stations have realized the potential of Internet TV and now offer their programs which have already been broadcast as “on-demand” or sometimes known as “Catch-up” services, giving you the chance to “catch-up” with your favorite programs. Just about every one of the major broadcasters around the world now offers this service – they soon realized it was essential to go with the flow of technology, or they wouldn’t be able to “catch-up” if their competitors got too far ahead.
Internet TV Costs
Except for paying for your normal internet connection, many of these online television channels are absolutely free. Of course, they have to get their money from somewhere, so they are run largely on the same principal as many of the commercial terrestrial television stations and have short advertisements or banners which may pop up before the video starts playing, for example. A small price to pay for the viewer I’m sure you’ll agree, it’s so quick that it really doesn’t detract from viewing at all, much better than sitting through about 15 minutes worth of advertisements for every 10 minutes of interesting television program (or that’s how it sometimes felt anyway).
